Weekly Photo Challenge – Grid

I took this photo while laying down in my bed about a year ago and I thought it fit the Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge – Grid. It is actually a picture of the roof to my patio turned upside down. Suffering from chronic pain, I spent a lot more time in bed than I would like to so my bedroom has become a very mundane scene. However, it’s surprising how much different a room or a view can look through a camera lens.

In My Room

It crept into my life,
a sweet poisonous gas
gently seeping in under the door to my heart
and when I was looking away (for just a moment)
it slipped in through the window to my soul.

It became the only thing that surrounded me,
yet I wasn’t aware it was there at all.
I took in a little with each breath;
the feeling was unrecognizable
and before I could realize what was happening,
I was addicted.

It became all I ever wanted;
I would take in as much as I could
but it was till never enough.
It seemed to feed my feelings and emotions,
letting them grow beyond expectations
and then they withered away.

The poison suffocated me
leaving me gasping for something pure.
I was left no other choice but to open the window
and let it all go.

Spring in Vermont

Spring in Vermont

Considering I live in Miami, as far as I knew we were in Summer! It almost seems to be the only season we have sometimes. When I think Spring I think of places I’ve been where it’s cool in the shade and warm in the sun.

One place that comes to mind is Vermont. This is one of my favorite pictures I took while there a couple years ago. I have actually posted this picture before but I just had to share the natural beauty of Vermont again for The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge because it really captures how I perceive spring.

Cee’s Odd Ball Challenge – Week 9

Black and White

I decided to take a few photos laying down in my bed just to play around. This is one of them. I kind of thought it fit for Cee’s Odd Ball Photo Challenge.

But, considering the fact that I showed this to someone and their reaction was, “pod people”, I should probably show another perspective:

 See it?

Life is not a beach. It is more like dirty pavement. It is hard and sometimes it gets messy but, if you take a moment to stop and look around it can still be almost as beautiful as any beach.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Shadows

I found a great blog today, Cee’s Photography, that has photography tips and a lot of great photos to get inspiration from. I am going to use Cee’s “Tips and Tricks” to jump start my endeavor on 1) actually learning to use my camera and 2) learning to take a good photo that involves a little more than luck on my part!

This is a photo I took of the shadows of the safety railings on the second floor of San Francisco’s Historic Sharon Building in Golden Gate Park. I decided to use it for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Shadows.

Golden Gate Park If I ever get back to San Francisco I would love to take some more pictures of the shadows of the Golden Gate Bridge. I got just a couple while I was there. Here is one I posted in a previous post, The Shadow:

Stop Here

STOP HERE! Where is HERE? Well, you can definitely see it from the stop sign at NW 25th St and NW 2nd Ave in Miami. 🙂

My brother was with me when I took this picture and he questioned why I was even taking it. I’m glad I could use it for this week’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Letters.
